americas-cupOn September 25, 2013, a sports event occurred that boggles the mind.  In the final America’s Cup race, Oracle Team USA completed a comeback that was not simply improbable – it seemed impossible.

Just one week ago, Emirates Team New Zealand led the series by a dominant 8 races to 1.  All they needed to do was win one more race in the boat that had been nearly unbeatable and the cup would be theirs.  Instead, the Oracle team won eight straight races – in many different conditions.  And the final race was a miniature version of the series – New Zealand took the lead at the start and held it until about the middle of the race, at which time Oracle passed and never looked back.

Final score:  Oracle Team USA 9, Emirates Team New Zealand 8.
