Why we choose to go
NASA Administrator Charles Bolden wrote an article for The Hill this week, in which he described the rational for a NASA mission to an asteroid – drawing on the experience of the push for the moon.
The most amazing thing to me is that President Kennedy’s vision of dedicating the nation to a mission to the moon came only 35 years after the Atlantic was first crossed by air.
It has now been 54 years since Armstrong and Aldrin first stepped onto the lunar soil.
How did we lose our spirit of exploration?
How can we get it back?
